That many individuals are too strict and intolerant to respect things like critical thinking, being open-minded toward ideas, and doing things that might make a person fearful of criticism or discomfort with respect in the real world. What I mean by this is that Beck is not just trying to make the student literature look better, and instead he is attempting to make himself look better. Given that his own research on the address for first-year students has nothing to do with the ethics of writing, rather than the ethics of theology, I think that Beck is telling the wrong guy.
